2. The consumption of resources during the production process and its emissions to the aquatic environment, the soil and the air
Troldtekt is produced in Troldhede in western Jutland. L. Hammerich, as it was called then, started producing Troldtekt here in 1935, since when the factory has been regularly renovated and modernised so it is now a state-of-the-art facility.
Troldtekt production takes place in a closed system without any wastewater discharge. Production is characterised by an extremely environment-friendly use of raw materials, minimising external environmental impact.
CO2-neutral energy
Approx. 95 per cent of the factory’s energy consumption for heating purposes is based on CO2-neutral fuel from wood waste and bark from the production of Troldtekt. Wood is CO2-neutral fuel, because the burning of wood releases carbon dioxide (CO2) which is already in circulation, while the combustion of coal, oil and gas sends new carbon which has been extracted from deposits in the ground into the carbon cycle, causing the greenhouse effect.
