Troldtekt® Award 2016

For the fourth time Troldtekt invited students of design and architecture from all over the world to participate in the Troldtekt Award competition, awarding the most original and creative idea for using our acoustic panels with 5,000 euros.

The submitted projects were evaluated by a jury composed of internationally renowned architects. The Troldtekt Award 2016 was awarded to two architecture students from UAUIM in Bucharest, Romania for their entry "Troldtekt AIR".

Troldtekt® Award 2014

In 2014 Troldtekt also invited all architectural and design students from all over the world to participate in the Troldtekt Award 2014 competition.

We received 115 entries from 39 countries and an international jury chose the project "Troldtekt Raw" as the winning entry. The students behind the project were three students from Escuela Superior de Arquitectura in Guadalajara (Mexico).

However, the jury was so impressed with the overall quality of the entries that three special prizes were also awarded, while a further four projects received honourable mentions.

In 2012 the competition was widened to include international students because of Troldtekt’s increasing visibility throughout Europe. The concept competition for the Troldtekt Award 2012 involved incorporating Troldtekt into an architectural project in a completely new and original way. The only condition was that Troldtekt was incorporated in a key and innovative way. In other words, proposals did not have to be just about acoustics but rather innovative and unusual ideas.

The competition was judged by several well-known architects, and it offered a 5000 euro Award for the best concept.

The winner of the Troldtekt Award 2012 was Matthias Kisch from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. His winning entry featured a floating sculptural design – or acoustic cloud – suspended above a table.

The standard of the proposals was so high that the judges’ committee also awarded a Special Prize to Amy Linford from Newcastle University in the UK. Her ‘(Fabric)ated’ proposal conceived a new and unique Troldtekt panel with an irregular, wavy surface.
