Circular economy: Troldtekt shares knowledge in Stockholm
Transforming products for the circular economy will be the focus of the upcoming Design & Innovation Forum in Stockholm, hosted by the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute. As part of the programme, Troldtekt will participate in a panel debate.
The circular economy is gaining momentum in the Nordic countries with the Cradle to Cradle design concept as an important driver. At the Design & Innovation Forum taking place on 4-5 November 2019, experts and innovative companies will share their experience with designing products that can enter into sustainable cycles.
The co-founder of Cradle to Cradle, William McDonough, is the keynote speaker at the forum hosted by the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute. Troldtekt is one of the best practice companies that have been invited to participate in a panel debate. As part of the debate, Tina Kristensen, our Head of Marketing and Communications, will talk about our experience with innovation based on circular principles.
Troldtekt products form part of sustainable cycles
At Troldtekt, we have worked according to Cradle to Cradle’s circular principles since 2012. The aim is that products are healthy enough to either be reused in the biological cycle, where they return to nature, or in the technical cycle through being turned into raw materials for new products – without wasting resources.
Via our Cradle to Cradle certification at Silver level, we can document that Troldtekt acoustic panels can be safely returned to nature as a soil conditioner. Additionally, dust from the production of Troldtekt panels is used as a resource in new cement from Aalborg Portland. Demolition waste in the form of used Troldtekt cement-bonded wood wool panels can also be used for cement production.
In Sweden, we support the dissemination of the Cradle to Cradle concept through our membership of ‘Cradlenet’, an NGO which provides inspiration and facilitates knowledge sharing between companies, organisations and people.
