Cradle to Cradle

Troldtekt is Cradle to Cradle-certified in the silver category. The certification covers the full product portfolio of Troldtekt acoustic panels in light natural, grey natural and painted in the standard colours white 101, grey 202, charcoal grey 208, black 207 and red 210. The silver certification also covers the non-combustible Troldtekt A2 panels and Troldtekt agro panels. The certification has been granted because, among other things, the panels contain no harmful substances and can therefore be composted and returned to nature as soil conditioner.

Product life cycle

Materials, manufacture, production, transport, use and recycling. Throughout the entire product life cycle – from cradle to cradle – Troldtekt focuses on minimising the environmental impact of its products, and on optimising resource consumption and processes so that the products add value. This is the line of thought in the product life cycle which underpins Troldtekt’s Cradle to Cradle business strategy.

The Environmental Product Declaration

The Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for Troldtekt has been prepared by the Danish Technological Institute (DTI) and subjected to third party verification by Norwegian SINTEF Byggforsk/SINTEF Building and Infrastructure. The EPD has also been registered with the Norwegian EPD Foundation (EPD Norway).

Troldtekt's EPD is also accepted and registered in the German register for third party verified EPD's at the "Institut für Bauen und Umwelt e.V.".

Healthy indoor climate

Troldtekt panels are certified according to the best indoor climate categories by Danish Indoor Climate Labelling, meaning that Troldtekt panels do not contain harmful materials or potential allergenics.

In addition, Troldtekt is classified in the M1 category by the Finnish Indoor Air Association and the Building Information Foundation RTS and as a Allergy Friendly Product by Allergy UK.

Furthermore, Troldtekt panels are categorised in class A by the Swedish Sundahus Environmental Material Data.

LEED, BREEAM and DGNB are the three leading, voluntary certification schemes within sustainable building. The Ramboll Group has documented how Troldtekt can contribute with points for the focus areas in the three certification schemes such as life cycle costs, indoor climate and materials.
