Cement-bonded wood wool panels

The wood used in Troldtekt acoustic panels is Norway spruce from local forests. Danish timber is a renewable resource, as more is planted than is logged. Wood is also a CO₂-neutral resource, as it absorbs as much CO₂ during its growth as is emitted during its management, logging and transportation.

Troldtekt acoustic panels are FSC^®-certified (FSC^®C115450), which means that we can offer products produced with wood that originates from responsible forestry operations.

Troldtekt acoustic panels are also PEFC-certified. This means that we can supply certified acoustic panels manufactured using timber from forests which are documented as being sustainable and which comply with the PEFC principles.

In our production of Troldtekt acoustic panels, we use certified wood only. As a customer, you can choose whether you want your Troldtekt acoustic panels to be FSC or PEFC™-certified.

Cement makes Troldtekt acoustic panels strong and fireproof without the use of harmful chemicals. These are properties that would be difficult to achieve with other binding agents. Troldtekt only uses cement from Aalborg Portland, which extracts the raw materials from the Danish underground with minimal environmental impact.

Chalk and sand are the key ingredients in classic Portland cement. The chalk is extracted at Aalborg Portland’s chalk quarry, while sand is extracted at, for example, Hals Barre, where the sand dredging helps to keep the Limfjorden channels navigable.

We are in the process of replacing the cement with the new and patented cement type FUTURECEM^TM, which also comes from Aalborg Portland. Troldtekt acoustic panels based on FUTURECEM have a significantly lower carbon footprint than Troldtekt based on traditional cement.

Aalborg Portland is certified in accordance with the ISO 14001 environmental management system and the European Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS).

Our Troldtekt cement-bonded wood wool panels used for acoustic ceiling and wall cladding are produced at our factory in Troldhede, Denmark.

The Troldtekt acoustic series comprises the Troldtekt, Troldtekt Plus, Troldtekt A2 panels, an award-winning design line and a wide range of accessories.

All Troldtekt panels have the same characteristic appearance and unique sound-absorbing properties.
