Troldtekt Award 2018

And the winner is...

How can Troldtekt cement-bonded wood wool panels be used in innovative new ways? This was the competition brief, to which we received 53 creative entries from around the world. Our international jury has now selected a winner, and we are pleased to announce that the 2018 Troldtekt Award and EUR 5,000 goes to:

the ‘Coral’ project, submitted by Enrique Villamuelas and Rita Lancho Moreno from the ETSAM School of Architecture in Madrid.


Winning project

The Troldtekt Award 2018 and 5,000 euros go to two architecture students from ETSAM in Madrid, Spain.

Enrique Villamuelas and Rita Lancho Moreno from Spain have proposed a brand new design with Troldtekt acoustic panels. The idea behind their project 'Coral' is that randomly or systematically placed holes in Troldtekt walls and ceilings can contribute to a particular aesthetics and acoustics.

Special Prize

The project "Soundshade" is awarded a special prize and 1,000 euros in the Troldtekt Award 2018.

A special prize and 1,000 euros go to the project 'Soundshade', submitted by Ella Scheer from the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden. The project presents the idea to use Troldtekt as a mobile, sound absorbing curtain.

Honourable Mention

The project "Rescue House" receives Honourable Mention in the Troldtekt Award 2018.

'Rescue House' submitted by Milad Ali Akbari, Ali Battat and Sahar Rasoli from the University of Qom in Iran receives Honourable Mention from the jury in the Troldtekt Award 2018. The project presents the idea of using Troldtekt wood wool panels to build emergency housing.
