Rustic charm with a modern twist

Henne Kirkeby Kro is known for its restaurant which has two Michelin stars and its own kitchen garden. However, the inn also has exclusive rooms and suites with a dedicated breakfast room in the neighbouring Staldgården, a converted farm building.

The breakfast room for overnighting guests is situated in Staldgården, which also houses three rooms. With views of the inn’s 4,000-square-metre kitchen garden, guests can enjoy their morning coffee in what is best described as extremely pleasant and idyllic surroundings. The design strikes a delicate balance between the authentic farm building architecture and the modern interiors.

The large corner window, which has greatly opened up the room, is clearly a new feature, as is the steel construction that supports the roof, and both add a contemporary touch. The room’s most outstanding feature is the vaulted ceiling clad with oil-treated Douglas fir mounted on black Troldtekt acoustic panels.

The wooden strips and the Troldtekt acoustic panels combine to create a rustic room with carefully balanced and pleasant acoustics – whether it is being used for breakfast or a music event.

Rustic feel

The herringbone brick floors add further to the rustic feel. Harking back to the building’s former function as a farm building, brick has also been used outside, which creates a strong sense of coherence between the interior and exterior and the existing brick walls.

In addition to Staldgården, there are also rooms in Nabogården and Jægerhuset. Tegnestuen Mejeriet A/S was responsible for the renovation and new building work, which has transformed Henne Kirkeby Kro into an architecturally harmonious and inviting venue with respect for the historic buildings as well as the need for modern comfort.

The large kitchen garden is a green oasis that is open to guests and which adds a special, culinary charm to the place.
