A Circle instead of a Crisis: Experience a world without waste at an exhibition in Berlin
How do we create a circular world with products that benefit people and the environment? This is what Cradle to Cradle NGO is focusing on with an interactive exhibition in Berlin. Troldtekt acoustic panels are part of the exhibition, which is open to the public from 1 March to 4 July 2024.
Climate change, biodiversity under pressure and resource scarcity. These are just some of the global challenges that have motivated Cradle to Cradle NGO to launch the 'Kreis statt Krise' exhibition in Berlin.
The purpose of the exhibition is to use real-life examples to show how manufacturers can create solutions that are healthier for both people and the climate.
The exhibition opens with an event for invited guests on Thursday, 29 February 2024. From 1 March to 4 July, anyone who is interested can visit Freiraum in der Box in Berlin-Friedrichshain, where the exhibition will be held free of charge. Here guests can get a taste of a more circular future.
No waste, only resources
The products on display will include everything from packaging made from compost to recyclable T-shirts and Troldtekt acoustic panels made from cement-bonded wood wool. The common denominator for all the solutions is that they are designed according to the circular principles of Cradle to Cradle Certified®.
The exhibition also features a C2C workshop where you can develop your own ideas for solutions that utilise waste as a new resource.
The entire vision of Cradle to Cradle Certified is precisely a world without waste, where materials can enter new biological or technical cycles, and where material health, recycling and renewable energy are among the key criteria.
A strategic approach since 2012
At Troldtekt, we decided back in 2012 to base our business strategy on the Cradle to Cradle principles and have our products certified according to the internationally recognised Cradle to Cradle Certified® scheme. Since then, we have optimised our production by switching to renewable energy, by systematically recycling waste, adopting healthier paint mixes and much more.
Today, the entire range of Troldtekt acoustic panels in natural wood and standard colours is Cradle to Cradle Certified at gold level.
At the Kreis statt Krise exhibition, you can experience the new Troldtekt® wall deco/v-line design solution in the standard colours white, grey and black. The acoustic panels are based on the cement type FUTURECEM™, which has a carbon footprint over the entire product life cycle that is 26% lower than Troldtekt based on grey cement and 38% lower than Troldtekt based on white cement.

- Cradle to Cradle NGO is behind the exhibition at Freiraum in der Box in Berlin. The site functions as a living laboratory for sustainable building.
- Kreis statt Krise opens to the general public on 1 March 2024 and lasts until 4 July 2024. Admission is free of charge.
