Acoustic solutions for BREEAM-certified buildings
How Troldtekt contributes to BREEAM certified buildings
When seeking BREEAM-certification for a building, it is a plus that Troldtekt is a proven healthy material, that the wood in the acoustic panels comes from responsible forestry, and that EPDs map the environmental footprint.
Working with Ramboll, we have prepared a pack of documents to make it easier for auditors to calculate the specific contribution of our products to the various BREEAM criteria.
Troldtekt contributes positively to the BREEAM-certification of buildings and, together with Ramboll Group, has made ready-to-use “pdf-packages” with thorough documentation for BREEAM-assessors for the relevant BREEAM-criteria.
Here you find a list of the BREEAM-criteria for which Troldtekt contributes with points and for which auditors can be given documentation. The list is based on BREEAM International. Be aware that some criteria require product- and project-specific data.
Troldtekt’s documentation for the criteria listed here contains confidential information and this will therefore only be given to assessors.
How the focus areas are weighted in the overall assessment:
Launched by the Building Research Establishment in 1990, BREEAM is the British sustainability certification scheme for buildings. BREEAM stands for:
In Great Britain, BREEAM is administered by BRE, which is one of the founders of UK Green Building Council. BREEAM is used in more than 50 countries and several European countries have developed editions of BREEAM that have been adapted for national use, among them The Netherlands and Norway.

Good acoustics in Norway’s Archives
Sustainability is a key element in the design of Archive House in Stavanger with a goal of creating a sustainable building with a high quality, low energy consumption, and a low CO2 footprint.
The ceilings as well as several walls are cladded with Troldtekt acoustic panels which tie the areas together, absorb noise and create the ideal quiet environment for socialising and work.
The building has been awarded BREEAM Excellent certification, evaluating the project based on environmental performance ranging from health and environment to energy, transport, material use and ecology.
