A modern home

The family home in northern Jutland is a fine example of simple and functional architecture characterised by robust materials and ample daylight.

The plot is rectangular, and therefore it made sense to build a long house with several doors accessing the west-facing garden. The house has a shed roof, opening up the living rooms, which are all positioned along one side of the building, towards the garden and letting in an abundance of natural light.

The Troldtekt acoustic ceilings play an important role in the home as a unifying element, while at the same time helping to create a homely and inviting atmosphere. Good acoustics are key to creating a comfortable indoor climate, while the structure of the ceiling contrasts beautifully with the other smooth surfaces in the house.

Martin Bach is a developer, architect and carpenter, and over the years has acquired considerable experience with residential buildings. He explains that Troldtekt cement-bonded wood wool panels were the obvious choice for the ceilings, as they provide calm surfaces while at the same time ensuring superior acoustics.

Stylish interior
Martin Bach has built a second house next door with the same floor plan, but with a different roof shape. A floor plan which has proved to be perfect for modern living. A simple concept, yet with space for the personal touch.

Martin Bach and his wife have chosen integrated spots in the white ceiling, and have painted the walls in soft hues, which go extremely well with the personal and very harmonious interior.
