EASV Esbjerg

The largest business academy in the Esbjerg region is the Business Academy South-West (EASV). Here, among others, construction managers, information technologists, laboratory technicians and various other professions are educated in a dynamic and international study environment.

In 2010, due to an increase in students, the school was extended and the existing classrooms modernised. Principal Henrik Larsen is very satisfied with the result:

“The building is exactly as we wanted, in tune with the overall vision, mission and teaching doctrine of the academy. We wanted a building of character that would help make a fairly unknown educational institution more visible – you can call it branding. At the same time, we wanted to retain classroom teaching and intimacy with the students. Moreover, all employees now live in the same area and we believe that this will improve the cross-educational relationships.”

Finn Smidt, architect MAA and partner at the architectural firm Tegnestuen Mejeriet comments:

“It was particularly exciting to ‘brand’ EASV with a visible and characteristic red building which is true to the structure and content of the old school but which also adds new things to the place. We have succeeded in creating a functional and architectural connection – this will become very clear when the facades of the old buildings are renovated.”

Finn Smidt also comments on the extensive use of Troldtekt:

“Tegnestuen Mejeriet has a lot of experience with Troldtekt ceilings which we have used in several building projects. We really like the texture and the rustic look of the panels which create a perfect contrast to the painted surfaces and furniture.”

“The Troldtekt panels calm the surface of the ceiling while services can easily be fitted into the panels without disturbing the overall effect. Moreover, we had the panels supplied in a custom-size to fit our ceiling lighting. This saved us valuable time at the construction site.”
