Troldtekt contributes to Planet Passionate

Troldtekt's strategic initiatives help fulfil the ambitious goals of Kingspan Group’s sustainability programme.

At Troldtekt, we are driven by a passion for people and the planet. This aligns well with our position as part of the global Kingspan Group. Kingspan’s sustainability programme towards 2030 is called Planet Passionate, and applies across the Group’s companies in more than 80 countries.

On this page you can read about the programme, which is divided into four categories: CO₂ emissions, energy, circularity and water. Also read about how Troldtekt contributes specifically to each category.

In practice, there are many synergies between Planet Passionate and the categories in the Cradle to Cradle design concept, which Troldtekt has been working strategically with since 2012. In this way, Troldtekt’s long-standing approach and initiatives naturally support Planet Passionate.

CO2 emissions

We are working to reduce the carbon footprint of Troldtekt acoustic panels, both in our own production processes and through raw material procurement.

Renewable energy

At Troldtekt, we are approaching 100 per cent renewable energy in our production. A large part of the energy is generated at our own factory site.

Circularity

At Troldtekt, we are working on several initiatives to give our panels one or more extra life cycles. In our resource hierarchy, we provide an overview of the possibilities.

Water stewardship

At Troldtekt, we work strategically with water management. For example, we have established a basin for collecting water during heavy rainfall.

More about Planet Passionate

The purpose of Planet Passionate is for Kingspan to have a positive impact on three global challenges: climate change, circularity and protecting the world’s natural resources.

Kingspan wants to make a difference with advanced materials, building systems and digital technology. The Group has its own innovation centre, IKON, where new initiatives are developed to help Troldtekt and Kingspan’s other companies meet their ambitious goals.

Planet Passionate spans 10 years (2020–2030) and has been updated midway with new goals. Several of the original goals have already been met ahead of schedule.
