Dilsen Stokkem MFC & Bib De Faar
Designed to bring people together like a beacon, the new multifunctional meeting centre in Dilsen-Stokkem has established itself as the city's central cultural hub.

A new milestone has been reached in the heart of Dilsen-Stokkem with the opening of De Faar, a multifunctional meeting centre. But De Faar is much more than just a building. It is a dynamic hub designed to connect and inspire creativity. The architectural design of De Faar, created by De Gouden Liniaal Architecten, reflects the spirit of the community and offers inclusive spaces that seamlessly integrate learning, creativity and social interaction.
With a varied mix of reading areas, event spaces and meeting rooms, acoustic comfort was an important consideration in the design process. The Stertekt Plus acoustic solutions from FUTURECEM feature ultra-fine fibres integrated into double-height panel ceilings in entrance areas and other creative spaces, where they resemble "acoustic bonbons". Stertekt consists of high-quality insulation finished with Troldtekt acoustic panels. These natural cream-coloured solutions have also been used in other parts of the building, such as in the library and in meeting rooms, to create a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere that supports quiet study and lively discussion.
De Faar offers an ideal setting for knowledge sharing, cultural events and social engagement by combining top-level acoustic solutions with an inspiring architectural vision. Here, design enhances both experience and interaction.
