Between east and west

Floor-to-ceiling windows and doors allow daylight to fill the home's large rooms. There's courage here to let the surroundings set the agenda and enhance the home.

Troldtekt acoustic ceilings are the natural choice when wanting to ensure superior acoustics and a healthy indoor climate in, for example, private homes

The villa can be described in many ways, but regardless, a contradiction exists which gives the house some nerve. Set back on the plot, the angled house sits like a sculpture occupying the terrain. It's at once a classic villa in red brick, an element which nicely references the neighbourhood while at the same being a strong, load-bearing element.

Consequently, the window profiles are colour-coordinated, lending a sense of calm to the large windows, where several glass corners converge, adding lightness to the home. The slope of the landscape creates a series of levels inside, which also serve as natural divisions of space in the living areas. The recurring natural stone floor extends out onto the terraces to the east and west.

Richness of detail

The central space with kitchen and dining area is well-lit, so you can enjoy light from both east and west. The rear garden borders a park with large trees, and it’s as if the house is stretching out to draw them inside. Just as the outside walls are tactile, so are the floors and ceilings inside. The ceilings are clad in Troldtekt v-line, where the lines run from west to east. The ceiling acts as a sound absorber and its lines add structure to a house where most lines are vertical.

The house has many details that are discreetly incorporated into the overall design. Ceiling spotlights that illuminate the wall surfaces are a good example of the sculptural approach to the home's architecture.
