World’s first chlorine-free indoor pool
The world’s first chlorine-free public indoor swimming pool has opened in Nunspeet. This innovative swimming pool is an initiative by the municipality of Nunspeet and a local entrepreneur, who has developed a new water treatment technique.

To prevent the spread of diseases, chlorine must be present in swimming pool water. However, some swimmers find that chlorine causes skin irritation and breathing problems. What's more, chlorine is not good for the environment. The innovative new De Wiltsangh swimming pool in Nunspeet uses ultrafiltration and UV disinfection to purify its water.
The swimming pool of the future
This swimming pool of the future is part of the new, energy-neutral Wiltsangh sports complex. The designated pool at the new complex is completely chlorine-free, while the other pools have low chlorine levels. To further enhance the user experience, Troldtekt fine-fibre acoustic panels in natural cream and moss green (RAL 6005) have been installed on the walls and ceilings. These acoustic panels absorb the ambient noise of splashing and playing visitors. The Troldtekt panels complement the moss-green tiles and plain wooden structure of the swimming pool perfectly.
