Troldtekt wins Danish-German Business Award

A professional jury and an open vote have named Troldtekt the winner of the Danish-German Chamber of Commerce’s ‘Danish Company of the Year’ award. The award honours Troldtekt’s successful entry on the German market, where sales of sustainable acoustic panels are now growing year on year.

Danish sustainable production is a success in Germany. So reads the headline of the Danish-German Chamber of Commerce’s nomination of Troldtekt as ‘Danish Company of the Year’. At the virtual event held on Wednesday, 16 December, Troldtekt was named the winner of the award. The other two finalists were the well-known retail chain JYSK and Berrifine, which supplies fruit-based products.

With the ‘Danish Company of the Year’ award, the Chamber of Commerce honours a Danish company for its success in the German market – based, for instance, on innovation and extraordinary growth. The jury states that Troldtekt receives the award for its dedicated entry with the substance and seriousness that the German market requires, with a good sustainable fit-to-market product.

The Danish-German Chamber of Commerce also awards a ‘German Company of the Year’ award to a German company that is successful in Denmark. This year, Lidl was the winner of the award.

An organisation with local knowledge

At Troldtekt, CEO Peer Leth is proud of the award, which is visible testament to the development the company has experienced in the German market since establishing its subsidiary, Troldtekt GmbH, in 2015.

“Over the past few years, we have built up a local organisation of experienced employees who have an understanding of the German construction industry. It’s been the right path to take, and we are posting impressive growth figures. I would like to thank the Danish-German Chamber of Commerce, the jury and the voters for acknowledging our success,” he said.

“The biggest thank-you should, however, go to our employees. Of course to our talented team in Germany, but also to our colleagues in Denmark involved in production, innovation, technical support, marketing and other key functions,” he adds.

The Danish-German Chamber of Commerce did a video interview with CEO of Troldtekt A/S, Peer Leth, and Country Manager at Troldtekt GmbH, Jesper Kvist.

Troldtekt GmbH in new office and showroom

Troldtekt GmbH had recently outgrown its first office in Hamburg. The company has now established a combined office and showroom in Hamburg’s creative Altona district. The showroom is part of Das Netzwerk für innovative Raumlösungen, where a number of interior product suppliers are based. It enables us to show architects, in particular, a ‘working showroom’ with multiple interior products integrated into the décor.

“We’ve been warmly welcomed by architects and developers in the German market, and in the coming years we see enormous potential in areas such as schools and private homes. Acoustics, indoor climate and particularly documented sustainable building materials are high on the agenda in Germany,” says Jesper Kvist, Country Manager at Troldtekt GmbH.

Multiple awards

The award from the Danish-German Chamber of Commerce rounds off a strong 2020. In September, Troldtekt received the DI Award from the Confederation of Danish Industry for its green transformation, which revolves around the Cradle to Cradle design concept.

Troldtekt’s products have previously won a number of awards on the German market, including a German Design Award 2020 and an ICONIC Award 2019, which were both presented for the new series of Troldtekt design solutions.
