Building Green Hamburg: Will new regulatory requirements accelerate the circular economy?

Building Green, an event about sustainable building, is being held for the first time in Germany. Architects and other professionals are meeting on 6-7 June in Hamburg, where an exhibition and discussions are organised. Troldtekt is represented on a panel discussion hosted by the product database Building Material Scout.

New EU requirements are being introduced to regulate how companies work with sustainability. At the same time, more clients are having their buildings certified. Can this trend in the construction industry together with the new legal requirements accelerate the circular economy? This is the theme when Building Material Scout invites Building Green attendees to a panel discussion – a so-called Green Session – during the event in Hamburg.

Tina Snedker Kristensen, Troldtekt’s Head of Sustainability & Communications, is on the panel. Among other things, she will talk about Troldtekt’s work with Cradle to Cradle and documented material health, which makes it possible to reuse Troldtekt acoustic panels when a building reaches the end of its useful life.

The Building Material Scout discussion is taking place on Tuesday, 6 June at 13:00, and is part of an exciting two-day programme in Hamburg. It is the first time that the Danish-based Building Green event is visiting Germany – with a combination of a trade fair, workshops and panel discussions. Admission to the event at Cruise Center Altona is free of charge.

Healthy materials are a prerequisite for healthy cycles. Therefore, material health is also a key category in the Cradle to Cradle design concept which Troldtekt uses to certify its acoustic panels.

Project overview

Building Material Scout is an online product database that makes it easier to choose building materials which are documented as being healthy. It enables all stakeholders in a project – clients, architects, planners and contractors – to maintain an overview of products in sustainability-certified buildings.

Documentation on the different Troldtekt acoustic solutions is registered in Building Material Scout. Among other things, it is possible to find documentation on how Troldtekt counts towards the DGNB and WELL certifications. Troldtekt’s Cradle to Cradle certification and Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) are also part of the database.
