Doornroosje’s premises nestle between the bus station, the city’s railway station, the local police station and a very busy thoroughfare with lots of cyclists.

The complex has been built on the plot which previously housed the railway post office, and the project has been realised through a cooperation between Klokbouw (Nijmegen, NL), Ed Züblin (Duisburg, DE) and AGS (Heerlen, NL).

In addition to the music venue, which has a large stage, a small stage and adjoining facilities, the complex also comprises 350 residential units for young people and a bicycle parking facility for 4,000 bicycles.

Doornroosje opened at the beginning of 2016.
