Offices in new urban centre

The solar energy company OBTON has moved into Nicolinehus at Aarhus Docklands. Spread across three floors around an atrium, there is nothing uniform about the varied spatialities, which all receive high levels of natural daylight.

Nicolinehus comprises two blocks of flats which, thanks to the staggered roof line of the development, are characterised by a varied sense of scale and naturally lit interiors. Nicolinehus is also distinguished by its combination of flats, offices and retail units. A thoroughfare running between the two buildings is inspired by traditional city streets and squares, and brings with it the same sense of life and activity to Aarhus Docklands.

The lower floor of the building where OBTON is based serves as a large market hall where it is possible to pick up a takeaway or consume the food on site. Most of the seating is in the atrium, the heart of the building. In the food market, Troldtekt acoustic panels have been installed on the ceilings, ensuring pleasant acoustics in spite of the high footfall and activity levels.

Modern interior

From the atrium, you can get a glimpse of office life at OBTON, which occupies three floors around the food market atrium. This is an effective way of blending the building’s various functions.

At OBTON, Troldtekt acoustic panels in natural grey have been installed as well as Troldtekt ventilation, which distributes fresh air to the offices through selected Troldtekt panels. In this setting, the colour nuances of Troldtekt in natural grey add a special charm to match the raw concrete surfaces. Also, the hard surfaces are balanced by soft carpets, curtains, upholstered furniture and atmospheric lighting.

Ambiente has been in charge of the interior design at OBTON, where the priority was to create an atmospheric and welcoming interior for both customers and employees inside a modern and personal office space. In addition to the soft furnishings, deep wall colours, unique wallpapers and works of art help to emphasise the personal universe that characterises OBTON. The style is simple, elegant and with an exclusive twist.
